Our robust DCD III package minimizes the number of ancillary staff necessary for maintenance of your COBOL system and solving time intensive problems, such as field-expansion or error resolution which saves you valuable time and money for data correlation, data documentation and data warehousing.

Cobol Field expansion can be as easy as 1-2-3 and provide an audit trace on every action accomplished.

Mainframe Alternate Compile Report

Marble puts all the pieces together with the highly logical Narrative of our Alternate Compile Report. Slashing the Programmer's work, it amazingly provides all the information in 1 page flip. This narrative is the most sought after part of our package. The Direct narrative we create for each data field is a well-organized, well-presented sorted listing of every Procedure Division instruction touching every Data Field. Your programmers currently assemble this information through a long tedious task of endless page flips between cross-reference and procedure division. And that's only for the Direct Narrative. To get at the Indirect narrative is even more difficult. Only in DCD III do you get a listing of the Indirect narrative—the hidden references—those with over-lapping positions to every evaluated field. Programmers must search long and hard with another 15 or more page flips to find all of these hidden references. And Indirect references are typically forgotten by the programmer in a rush.

Even with cross-references, each line of code must be documented, and then, remembered. Using 1,200 lines of code as average, if you have 5 Direct field references—there may be 7 page flips for just Direct narrative. It is possible to forget one or two in the process. And with Indirect references the number of page flips can rise to 20! You no longer have to depend on memory and luck, our ALTERNATE COMPILE REPORT for the mainframe is the answer. DCD III makes it possible to solve both Direct and Indirect references with one page flip! The hidden Indirect references appear as "Changed", "Tested", and "Used” in the narrative. Because we have already created what the programmer must labor endlessly to compile, you won't believe how much quicker and easier DCD III can make your program analysis. Flexibility, logic, cross-referencing; on a whole new level, we put all the pieces together for you into a unique and time-saving feature.
